Happy New Year!

It’s January 1st. Am I supposed to make resolutions?

I think I’ve failed every year when I’ve done this, but there are a few things I’d like to accomplish, so here goes:

Bathroom scale isolateLose 10 pounds. I put this weight on about 3 or 4 years ago, and I’ve been vowing to lose it ever since. It hasn’t happened. But now I’m motivated. Will this motivation last? Probably not. But I’m going to lose the weight anyway.

Vintage VacuumVacuum every Sunday. You laugh, but I have the hardest time doing this. It’s not that I don’t like vacuuming–I don’t mind it at all–it’s that it scares my cats so much, and I feel terrible about that. But it has to be done.

In the last year I’ve had some back problems that make it difficult to sit for any length of time,  but those are pretty much resolved. I have a writer’s group that includes several published authors, and I have the means to take that writing class I’ve always wanted to take. So time to dive in.

There are plenty of other things I’d like to accomplish, but this is enough commitment for now. So here goes–2022. It sounds so new. Let’s hope this year we’re healthy, wealthy (relatively, anyway) and wise.

  1. Happy New Year, Belinda! Good luck with your resolutions – I was thinking about the vacuuming. I love my Rebovac (Eufy $199) that I got on Amazon. It’s a lot cheaper than a Rhumba. I wonder if your cats could get used to it. It always amazes me how much stuff it picks up. Plus it goes under couches and beds to get things I wouldn’t normally reach. It goes on my hardwood floor and over carpets easily.
Wishing you a great New Year. I would also love to lose 10 pounds or more!

      1. It is the best ever and worth every penny. It’s really easy to empty and I cannot get over what it collects. I just have to move away things on the floor like cords from chargers, or things like that. Sometimes it gets stuck on my closet threshold, so I close the closet. I will send you a link to the one I have.
You will never have to worry about vacuuming again!
I’m not all that technical. It has a remote where you could do other motions. I just let it run through the house and there’s a button to make it go to the charging station. That’s all you need to do!

  2. Happy New Year, Belinda! My cats used to be scared of the vacuum, but now they sleep right through it. No idea what changed their mind, but I don’t feel like such a bad guy now!
A novel in the works–that is wonderful! Get writing, girl! That is exciting news!
