How Walter Got His Name

Sometimes, when people hear my cat is named Walter, they ask why I gave him that name. The truth is I don’t remember. However, I had just watched His Girl Friday with Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell, one of my favorite films. Cary Grant’s character’s name is Walter, so there’s a good chance my beloved Walter is named after Cary Grant. Both are quite handsome, although no one would call my Walter debonair. Sweet and loving, yes. But not at all sophisticated.

Hmmm…a worldly wise cat would know what to do with this glass of wine…

  1. I almost missed this post! You know what I am going to say… I think Walter IS debonair. Smiling here that you named him after a Cary Grant character. It’s been a long time since I watched His Girl Friday. I should watch that as we get into our hot afternoons and stay inside.

    1. It’s a great movie, and both Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell shine in it. Walter says thank you for the compliment. He’s a bit miffed that I said he wasn’t debonair. Oh, well. He is my sweet baby!
