I’m learning a lot about patience and faith these days. I’m still job hunting, and despite the low unemployment I’m having a hard time finding a job.
For the first time in my life, I’m faltering during job interviews. Not all of them; some I do quite well with. I’ve had six so far and the last one, gah, was horrible. And of course that’s the job I want. In all fairness to me, the people interviewing me weren’t experienced with the process.
I start to second guess myself on a regular basis. Job hunting is a demeaning process, and while I’ve obviously had to do it before, I didn’t really recognize it as such until now. I have to believe the right job for me is out there and it’s just a matter of time.
But I’m scared.
Patience and faith — God grant me both.
Belinda–asking God to please grant you both!

Throw in a job to the mix 🙂 Thank you for your kindness and prayers. I am so worried about all of this…but God has worked miracles before.

I am very empathetic to the process of job hunting. And I am very impressed that you have had SIX interviews!!! Do you tell them about your blog? I would think your blog would demonstrate all sorts of positive qualities — you are a self-starter, you write well, etc. May your self confidence renew itself and may you find a great new job!!!

Thank you!! yes, I tell them about my blog. Actually I talk more about my classic film blog, because there’s more discipline — as well as research — involved there. I appreciate your support.

There’s nothing like a job interview to make you question your self-worth. But in my mind, if the interviewer doesn’t recognize your potential as an employee, there is something wrong about the job or the interviewer. The right one is out there! It just hasn’t found its way to you yet.

Hi Belinda,
Job hunting is definitely not a comfortable experience. I am about to embark on the same journey, and I am quite scared.
All the best to you! The right job for you definitely exists, and I’m sure you’ll get there. It’s a process of discovery. 🙂

I’m sure you’ll get there in the end, but I remember how awful job hunting was, and I feel for you. I hope one of the six interviews works out for you, and remember that the one you’re feeling really self-critical about probably wouldn’t seem so bad to an outside observer. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
