Walter was sitting near the scratching post, an area I’m no longer allowed in for more than a few minutes, waiting for supper when an unidentified noise caught his attention. Was it something outside, or the rustle of the paper Mimi was playing with? Probably not the latter since she’d playing in there for a good fifteen minutes, and he’d pretty much lost interest.
I’m guessing it was a momentary distraction. It’s almost suppertime and they’re both pretty intent on getting fed soon. I’d better finish up this post.

an area I’m no longer allowed in for more than a few minutes–made me laugh, Belinda. Sounds so much like a cat mom! 😹

They don’t like it at all if I’m near their space unless I’m cleaning up a fur ball.

Walter, your Mom is concerned when you go on alert! Don’t distract her at FOOD time!

Ha! I suppose you’re right, although he’s pretty good at redirecting my attention if I get distracted!

I sometimes wish I could figure out what gets their ears perked up. They clearly hear something while I hear nothing.

They’re so in tune with stuff! Our daughter’s cats are funny that way, too. Cats are smart! Hugs to all three of you! 😘❤️😘

Maybe you can negotiate some slightly better terms on scratching post area access? Then again, maybe just take the win you’re still allowed to roam freely throughout the rest of the residence.😊

The rest of the apartment is shared space, so I’ll give in to their claim on the scratching post area. The only exception to this rule–and they readily agreed to it–is I’m allowed in to clean up fur balls.

He is very much on alert. His eyes are direct and serious. I love the picture of him though.

Thank you! I would say it’s hard to take a bad picture of him, however, that’s not quite true!
